London Fashion Weekend

The exact same tent that I had previewed James Long’s SS11 show at London Fashion Week would now be host to Vodafone London Fashion Weekend. It was my first time working here, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Manic; but very enjoyable; I really liked meeting potential clients and browsing the collections of the many fabulous designers. I got a bit carried away and within less than an hour I had already managed to spend a tremendous amount of money, I just couldn’t resist, they were on discount!!!! I was also lucky enough to gain entry into the fashion show for free where I was able to photograph Elizabeth’s ‘Gene’ coat from her AW10 collection. I got a glimpse of the backstage area when I went on a mission to find the woman who styled the coat for the catwalk. Casually I knocked on the back door and was greeted by a model with a massive smile on her face; everyone was clearly celebrating the success of their last show. The show was split into different themes, the first - ‘Nomad’, then ‘Kramer vs Kramer’, followed by two designers collections; Ashley Isham and BodyAmr. Here are a few of the photographs that I took:

Boy watching

Yet another spontaneous but great move, managed to get myself into a menswear show at London Fashion Week. At the James Long Show, a very colourful array of boys sauntered down the catwalk in laid back knits with splashes of colour here there and everywhere, and by everywhere I mean everywhere, including their hair. This fun and quirky look was in direct contrast to the light brown leathers and stark white garments.

Stepping back into the daylight, I decided to snap a few of my favourite street style looks, a great excuse to do a bit of boy watching.

London Fashion Week

Elizabeth and I paid a flying visit to the trade show at London Fashion Week. Here are a few pictures of my favourite displays:

Sat people watching in the cafe tucked away in the corner of Somerset House courtyard, I just had to run up and ask to take a photo of this seriously fashion forward lady.

Unknown

There was something quite haunting yet beautiful about the work of this unknown artist:

Out of all the artwork displayed in MoMA, these have to be the photographs that stood out the most for me ♥

"...and it was New York"

Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Big Apple back in Feburary, take a peek at my holiday snaps:

when it snowed; tree on Fashion Avenue taken with my ‘Lomo’

Picture postcard; beautiful light takes over the city at dusk, as seen from the top of the Empire State building

Watching time go by at Grand Central Station ♥

Hazy view of fashion

A few from the York College Fashion Show 2010:

Stuck in the mud

A selection of photographs taken last autumn for a friend’s college project; just having some fun and playing about, as well as taking some serious ones. Dress designed and made by Amy Dzierzek, also styled by the designer herself:

My favourite photos (with a bit more of a vintage appeal):
