Top Drawer

Elizabeth and I paid short a visit to Top Drawer; the gift and homeware trade show (Monday 13th).

It was a good job nothing was for sale to the general public because I could have bought almost everything; there were so many beautiful pieces. After 3 hours we had only managed to dawdle our way around half of the exhibition; there was so much to look at and consider, very inspiring! Here are just a few of my favourites:

Andrea Kett:

Cute yet very provocative illustrated greetings cards

Laser cut cards, sold by the very friendly and enthusiastic designer himself; Ge Fong

Adorable cards by Jules Miller:

Carrying on with the burlesque theme, I absolutely loved this company; Dupenny, who design wallpapers and homewares.

Finally, both Elizabeth and I fell in love with this sweet and sophisticated necklace designed by Dotty K. ♥

Cocktails served in tea cups

I enjoyed a wonderful night sipping cocktails and window shopping with the lovely designer Elizabeth Lau, as we made our way around Bond Street for Fashion’s Big Night Out (Septemeber 8th 2010). I must say Louis Vuitton and Moschino were my favourite venues, although we did visit a few others including Selfridges, where I chatted to Britt from Gok’s Fashion Fix:

We started out the night in Moschino, where the punch was served in these cute dainty tea cups:

I was excited to accessorise with a pair of Moschino earrings for a photograph taken in their window display!

We ended the night in Louis Vuitton, where we got a little carried away, dressing up in their photobooths:

Guests were given a choice of extravagant props made from magazine pages shaped into over-sized bows and bunny ears on headbands, very silly really, with lots of giggles to be had.

Definitely a good night for spotting the celebrities if that’s what you’re looking for. To name a few; the well known model Alice Dellal who did a DJ set at Louis Vuitton, I spotted George Craig (the face of Burberry) with fellow One Night Only band mate Jack Sails, the blogger Mademoiselle Robot...

All in all it was a very enjoyable event, and a must go for next year ♥

Feels like I’m a Londoner

Having secured myself a placement, I have been working with the very talented fashion designer Elizabeth Lau for the last month or so. London is slowly but surely beginning to feel like home. I have met so many lovely people at work and outside of work! I am even beginning to recognise people on the street, and people are beginning to recognise me! There is so much to do and to see, I thought that I would blog about my favourites...
